1) Who did this site?

This site was created and developed by Pau Mezquita. He is responsible for the design, layout, graphics, management, maintenance and supervision.

2) Where is this site located?

This web site server is based in Barcelona, Spain. The site is written and maintained from the Molecular Genetics Laboratory at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Barcelona.

3) Server's hardware & software specifications

This server consists on a dual Pentium III 450Mhz computer, 256 Mb RAM, 27Gb SCSI HD. Power protection is provided by APC. Live views of our lab are captured every 30 s using a Connectix Quickcam. The web site is powered by Internet Information Server 5.0, under Windows 2000 Server.

4) How was this site designed?

HTML documents were written using Notepad. Images were shot with a Olympus D200L digital camera, or scanned from photographs with a Hewlett-Packard ScanJet 4C. Clipart was taken from Photodisc Sampler. All images were processed on a Pentium III 500Mhz computer using Adobe Photoshop 5.5.

5) What engines does this site use for form processing, searching...?

Database access and maintenance is provided by Cold Fusion Application Server 4.5, from Allaire. Local search is performed using Excite Web Server. The counter engine is a courtesy of Aerosoft.
